The Strand Theater is a project of the Pride of Atmore. The Theater has brought downtown nightlife to Atmore through live music and entertainment in efforts to renovate this piece of history. More of an outdoorsman? Nearby rivers and woodlands teeming with trophy game will satisfy the demands of the sportsman who enjoys fishing or hunting. Atmore is fortunate to have two wilderness areas: Little River State Park, and Magnolia Branch Wildlife Reserve, within 20 minutes of Atmore. Each offers amenities such as improved and primitive campsites, swimming, camping, fishing, and hiking. Little River State Park is a 960-acre park that includes a 25-acre lake. Magnolia Branch Wildlife Reserve, located on beautiful Escambia Creek, is owned and operated by the Poarch Creek Indians and is a popular destination for tubing.
Located north of town, just off I-65 are two-sport opportunities with great appeal for those who like their entertainment fast. The Atmore Dragway, an eighth-mile track, attracts race car enthusiasts from across the southeast, and the Atmore Motocross Park offers motorcycle and ATV riding and racing on an “outdoors nature style” track.
