What is Leadership Atmore? Leadership Atmore was founded in 1993 and was modeled after other leadership programs throughout the state This program of the Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce is designed to identify and develop the leadership potential in our community.
Each class brings together individual local leaders and reflects the diversity of our community. This diversity, in both backgrounds and experiences, greatly enhances the “leadership experience” while building a network of informed citizens who share a common bond. The Leadership Atmore Program is a nine month program consisting of an opening overnight retreat, seven full day interactive sessions, and graduation.
These learning experiences form the basis for a distinctive group identity unlike any existing development program During this time participants have an opportunity to become more aware of the dynamics, both socially and economically, impacting our community as well as learn from one another This is accomplished through face to face discussions at each session with leaders and experts from varying levels of government organizations and institutions At each monthly session, participants have full access to the presenters and leave with a better understanding of how their role and/or organization plays a key role in the infrastructure and fabric of our community.
